Veterinäranatomisches Präparat

Guided tour in English

Veterinäranatomisches Präparat

You will get an exciting insight into the daily work of the Institute of Veterinary Anatomy. You will learn interesting facts about the teaching methods and have exclusive access to various rooms such as the dissection room and the anatomical collection. Normally this access is reserved for veterinary students only.

These rooms provide important foundations for the study of veterinary medicine. Anatomy provides the foundation for understanding the animal body, teaching the complex interaction of organs, tissues, muscles, nerves and other anatomical structures. Among other things, this knowledge enables students to learn surgical skills, as the location and function of anatomical structures must be known in order to operate safely and accurately. Anatomy is also a very important subject for understanding disease processes and diagnosing diseases.

You will see various anatomical animal specimens, including so-called plastinates, which are produced using a special technique that has become well-known through the world-famous exhibition series “Körperwelten”.

You will learn how microanatomical tissue sections and 3D preparations are created for digital teaching and how the latter are manufactured for practical teaching using a 3D printer.
