Mikroskopische Klebstoffe: Eine Führung in die makromolekulare Welt

Klebstoffe unter dem Mikroskop

Guided tour in German

Klebstoffe unter dem Mikroskop

How do things stick together at the microscopic scale? With long but tiny particles called macromolecules. They stick together using different kinds of chemical bonds, that are like microscopic glues. We can make special materials out of these that switches between solid and liquid states, like jelly, or that liquify under pressure, like toothpaste. We can also make these materials alive by adding cells to them, just like the cells that make up our bodies.

In a special lab tour, you’ll get to play with these jelly-like materials, learn how they’re made, and see how we use them in things like medicine, engineering, and making artificial body parts. Get ready to wear gloves and try them out for yourself!
