Crystals and minerals sparkle and shine in all colors. However, when we want to identify a mineral, its color can be deceptive because there are many green or red minerals, for example. Therefore, we need to consider other characteristics such as shape and hardness when identifying minerals. At workshop stations and during a guided tour of the museum, children learn about different properties and can test them on real minerals themselves, just like a geologist.
