Controlling cells or how to pimp a dragon

Workshop in English

All animals consist of little building blocks called cells. During growth these cells specialize to perform certain tasks, e.g., as they form our organs or limbs. Very often the number of a specific type of cells needs to be precisely controlled so that we do not end up with limbs or organs that are too big or too small.

During this workshop you will learn how synthetic biology can help to steer cells to a specific outcome. You will be able to try this out yourself while designing your own dragon that is perfectly adapted for a specific environment and task.
