Lecture in German

Sepsis is the life-threatening failure of vital organs as a result of our body’s defence reaction against infection. Every year, more than 10 million deaths are caused by this devastating disease. The lecture will give an overview of the implementation of the Swiss National Action Plan against Sepsis – an initiative to improve the treatment and recovery of sepsis patients. We will highlight the situation of sepsis in children and adults and discuss the challenges and advances in prevention, diagnosis and treatment as well as the importance of high quality sepsis research. Learn more about the multidisciplinary collaboration, training of professionals and raising public awareness that underpin this action plan.
