The mysterious death of nine hikers in the Ural Mountains in the former Soviet Union in 1959 continues to preoccupy the world today. Why were some of them half-naked, some without eyes or tongues?

The tragedy at the Dyatlov Pass has spawned a number of theories, from murderous Yeti to secret military experiments. Three years ago, researchers from ETH Zurich and EPFL have conducted an original scientific study that puts forth a plausible explanation for the incident.

ETH Zürich invites you to the projection of a documentary on the Dyatlov Mystery, directed by Matteo Born. This documentary retraces the scientific journey of Prof. Johan Gaume, chair of Alpine Mass Movements and Prof. Alexander Puzrin, chair of Geotechnical Engineering at ETH Zürich.

After the screening, the protagonists and the director will be available to answer your questions.
