Konflikte in Freundschaften und in der Familie bewältigen
How psychology helps us to better understand and resolve conflicts with people close to us.
Science Café in German
When was the last time you had an argument, and with whom? Conflicts among friends or in the family are common, and can negatively impact our health. In the stressful times of a crisis, conflicts in friendships and in the family can occur more frequently.
A research project of the Department of Psychology at the University of Zurich aims to better understand conflicts in friendships or family, and develop strategies that help reconciling instead of distancing or even end a relationship.
The central question of the project is: What is the best way to deal with interpersonal disagreements? This Science Café will present the current state of research on this question. Afterwards, based on a case study, the audience will discuss their personal experiences.
