Let’s Play! – How Analog and Digital Games Build Knowledge

More

Play is often seen as the opposite of learning — yet the two are closer than we might think. Board games and video games foster strategic thinking, social skills, and creative problem-solving. And beyond that: analogue and digital games can actively create knowledge.

This event brings together research and practice: a series of compact lightning talks will illuminate different perspectives on the topic — from the potential that play holds for knowledge contexts, to game design, to concrete applications in educational settings. A hands-on session will then invite participants to try out the games presented, alongside a selection of further analogue and digital titles.

The workshop is open to anyone curious to discover — or rediscover — games as spaces of knowledge.
