Krebstherapien als Korrektur des «Fehlverhaltens der Natur»
On the contribution of cancer research to new therapeutic approaches
Science Café in German
Cancer develops when the processes that lead to natural cell division and cell renewal go awry. Cancer research investigates the phenomena of “what’s going wrong” and where the molecules are that exhibit misbehavior. It also shows how cancer research contributes to the search for new therapeutic approaches. It will be explored how the “misbehavior” of nature can be corrected, for example, to prevent the unchecked growth of cancer cells. It will also address the issue that what are often perceived as “artificial” interventions (drugs, radiation, surgery) are designed to correct “misguided natural phenomena” such as those that occur during cancer development.
