At the Science Café, discover the art installation Respiratory Encounters by Anthea Oestreicher and immerse yourself in the hidden world of algae, microorganisms, and aquatic plants. Observe how sensors make ecological processes visible in real time, and experience how closely your own breath is connected to organisms that produce a large portion of the oxygen. In conversation with the artist and Benjamin Misteli (Eawag), you’ll learn how knowledge emerges in art and science and what role perception, experience, and physicality play in this process. An interactive segment invites you to get involved yourself. Using specially designed tarot cards, you’ll position yourself within the ecosystem and reflect on your relationship with other living beings. The Science Café combines exchange, experience, and connection—and opens up new perspectives on our role in the networks of life.
