The greatest challenges in space can only be solved together.

Space research and space exploration raise questions that extend far beyond the natural sciences and engineering. At Scientifica, you’ll gain insight into UZH Space’s current research projects, which connects the University of Zurich’s diverse expertise in the fields of space research and space exploration – from the natural and life sciences to engineering as well as the social sciences and humanities.

Researchers from the fields of astrophysics, planetary science, and cosmology will explain to you how planets, stars, and galaxies form. You’ll also have the chance to experience space up close: In a virtual reality experience, take the controls of the Apollo 11 lunar module and try to pull off the historic moon landing yourself. If the weather is good, you can also take a look at the sun through a solar telescope.

In addition, we invite you to attend our short lecture, “The Story of Planet Formation,” which offers fascinating insights into the formation of planets and planetary systems.
