Spuren aus der Luft — wie DNA verrät, wer hier lebt

More

Animals and plants around the world are disappearing faster than ever before because we’re using their habitats to live, grow food and timber, or extract important raw materials from the ground. This affects us all, because we need an intact natural environment to survive. But how do we know which species live where – including tiny ones or those that are nocturnal?

We’ll show how we can figure this out using DNA traces collected from the air, and how we can use this knowledge to help companies and government agencies manage land in a way that allows both people and nature to coexist.
