Nuclear fusion is the energy source of the sun and the other stars. It has enormous potential to help us meet this challenge. Moreover, research into nuclear fusion is a virtuous example of global cooperation in science. The pinnacle of which is ITER, the project that aims to demonstrate its scientific and technological feasibility.
