They are extremely intelligent, have complex social structures with long-lasting, sometimes even lifelong friendships &#8211; certain populations even have a material culture. Dolphins in Shark Bay, Western Australia, use tools to forage. This allows some dolphins to access feeding grounds that are denied to others. Long-term research on Indo-Pacific bottlenose dolphins in Shark Bay has led to these and many other amazing findings about these inventive animals.
