Even tumors that look similar under the microscope can respond very differently to the same treatment, depending on their biology and the healthy cells around them. So how can doctors know which therapy is most likely to work? Researchers are growing miniature tumor models \u2013 called tumoroids \u2013 in the lab to find answers. These \u201cpatient avatars\u201d can be used to test therapies before they are given to patients.
