On this unique laboratory tour, you will discover how science and art come together. Together, we will explore the fascinating world of corals and their tiny inhabitants. Learn about the vital role microorganisms play in coral health, why they are so important for research, and how they can help us better understand coral diseases.<\/p>\n<p>You will then gain insights into modern microbiology. Discover how researchers collect samples in the field, analyse them in the laboratory and process vast amounts of data using supercomputers. Using Tara Pacific \u2013 an international expedition involving researchers from ETH Zurich \u2013 as an example, you will follow the journey from a coral sample to scientific discovery.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, we will shift perspective. An atmospheric sound installation by experimental musician Stefan K\u00e4gi transforms scientific data into sound, offering a completely new, immersive way to experience research. The installation is complemented by light and video created by the theatre collective ZONE OUT, supported by the NCCR Microbiomes.
