On this guided tour, you will gain insights into the work of the Archives of Contemporary History (AfZ), which collects, preserves and catalogues important sources on Swiss history. Discover how archival materials are acquired, organised and prepared for use, and why archives play a vital role in both research and society.<\/p>\n

The tour shows how files, letters, photographs and personal papers become valuable sources of knowledge. At the same time, it explores the limits of archiving: Which stories are preserved, which are lost, and what impact does this have on our understanding of the past?<\/p>\n
