And how can this research lead to new treatments for genetic diseases? This interactive laboratory tour begins with a short introduction to the research carried out in the Professorship of Genome Biology (Corn Lab). You will learn how researchers study genes and cells, make invisible biological processes visible and turn their observations into scientific knowledge.<\/p>\n<p>You will then step inside a working research laboratory and discover the tools used in modern genome research. See fluorescent bacterial cultures, learn how DNA fragments are separated using gel electrophoresis, and explore microscopy images of cells such as neurons and blood stem cells. You will also see a laboratory robot in action and find out how robotics and other advanced technologies support gene editing research.<\/p>\n<p>The tour concludes with an opportunity to ask questions and discuss how laboratory experiments help scientists better understand genetic diseases and develop new therapeutic approaches.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>How do scientists study genes and cells?
