DESCRIPTION:Welcome to AMZ Racing—where passion drives innovation\, and dedication powers performance. We are a dynamic team of engineering students committed to designing\, building\, and racing high-performance single-seat race cars. Competing annually in the prestigious Formula Student competition\, we pit our skills against over 100 universities worldwide. From initial concept to the roaring finish line\, we push the boundaries of engineering to create a winning machine. \nThe race cars consist of countless different parts whereas most of them are self-developed. For example\, one highlight that can be seen is our 15th generation self-developed motor completely tailored to our specific requirements. The chassis is made from carbon fibre designed and manufactured by the team in house. Same goes for the aerodynamic package which has been optimized by running over 2000 different simulations and afterwards validated in a wind tunnel \nOur students do not only conceptualize\, design\, manufacture and build our car but they also do rigorous testing and tuning to extract the full potential of the car. Additionally\, the car can navigate fully autonomously through the racetrack without knowing the path beforehand. Research in this field has pushed our technology to a point where we get closer to beating the human driver. For this we rewrite our whole autonomous software pipeline every year and try to find improvements in all areas. \n  \nBe sure to also visit us at our booth to ask any questions you may have.

DESCRIPTION:Two black holes merging\, aerial views of the Eye of the Sahara\, or simulations of entire galaxies: Images created by or for research showcase the Earth and space from an aesthetic perspective as well. This guided tour through the exhibition will not only give you a closer look at the images\, but also at the research behind them. \nBy pairing Earth observation and astronomical imagery\, new perspectives emerge: Earth appears as one planet among many planets\, with structures that echo across the cosmos. The curators intentionally worked at the edge of abstraction – resulting in a scientific and aesthetic “cabinet of wonders”\, with images that incentivize to dive into the research behind them. \nThe special exhibition “Aesthetics of Wonder” was conceived to mark the opening of the UZH Space Hub at the Switzerland Innovation Park Zurich (IPZ) to celebrate the collaboration between experts of different disciplines\, united by a passion for space exploration and research. After exhibits at EPFL\, ETH Zürich\, UZH and PSI\, the images have now made the full circle and are back here\, at home at IPZ. \nThe exhibition shall foster dialogue between science\, art\, and the public\, promoting discovery and innovation.

DESCRIPTION:Hyperloop is considered one of the most revolutionary transportation technologies of our time: Passengers and cargo could one day travel between cities at speeds exceeding 1\,000 km/h—faster than any airplane\, quieter than any train\, and using a fraction of the energy. \nSwissloop is the Hyperloop student team at ETH Zurich. We are developing a prototype pod that glides through a vacuum-sealed tube\, propelled by electromagnets and guided by intelligent control systems. \nOur team consists of mechanical engineering\, electrical engineering\, and computer science students from ETH Zurich who are working together on the mobility of tomorrow. DESCRIPTION:Welcome to AMZ Racing—where passion drives innovation\, and dedication powers performance. We are a dynamic team of engineering students committed to designing\, building\, and racing high-performance single-seat race cars. Competing annually in the prestigious Formula Student competition\, we pit our skills against over 100 universities worldwide. From initial concept to the roaring finish line\, we push the boundaries of engineering to create a winning machine. \nThe race cars consist of countless different parts whereas most of them are self-developed. For example\, one highlight that can be seen is our 15th generation self-developed motor completely tailored to our specific requirements. The chassis is made from carbon fibre designed and manufactured by the team in house. Same goes for the aerodynamic package which has been optimized by running over 2000 different simulations and afterwards validated in a wind tunnel \nOur students do not only conceptualize\, design\, manufacture and build our car but they also do rigorous testing and tuning to extract the full potential of the car. Additionally\, the car can navigate fully autonomously through the racetrack without knowing the path beforehand. Research in this field has pushed our technology to a point where we get closer to beating the human driver. For this we rewrite our whole autonomous software pipeline every year and try to find improvements in all areas. \n  \nBe sure to also visit us at our booth to ask any questions you may have.

The curators intentionally worked at the edge of abstraction – resulting in a scientific and aesthetic “cabinet of wonders”\, with images that incentivize to dive into the research behind them. \nThe special exhibition “Aesthetics of Wonder” was conceived to mark the opening of the UZH Space Hub at the Switzerland Innovation Park Zurich (IPZ) to celebrate the collaboration between experts of different disciplines\, united by a passion for space exploration and research.
