Lecture in German
The aim of research is to provide evidence by means of scientific experiments. Very specifically: an animal study has shown that a certain drug could be used for stroke therapy. Is this evidence enough to test the drug in humans? What if another study with the same drug had shown no such effect in animals? In our short talk, we – a meta-researcher and a doctor – will give insight into the topic of reproducibility, i.e. how well you can repeat a certain scientific experiment and come up with the same result. The audience will get tips on how to distinguish good science from not so good science.
