Do we already know everything about orchids? Do we even know all the orchid species in the world? Both questions can be answered with a clear NO. Because every year dozens of new orchid species are described in addition to the 26,000 already known. We know even less about the pollinators of these flowers. Yet orchid flowers and the life strategies of these plants can only be fully understood with information about their pollinators. Where are new orchid species discovered and how does knowledge about the interaction between plants and their pollinators develop? Learn about the fascinating but arduous orchid research in the tropical forests of Borneo.
