Playful Training with Virtual Reality

Virtual worlds support children with a neuromotor disorder to practice activities of daily living. The tasks are manifold: crossing a stream, feeding a badger or playing the drums. Give it a try!

At the Swiss Children’s Rehab, children and adolescents with a neuromotor disorder work to achieve the greatest possible autonomy in everyday life.

As a welcome addition to conventional therapy, children can use VR goggles to playfully practice activities of daily living in a safe virtual environment. The interaction with the unfamiliar environment and the playful character of the virtual world help the children to work on their rehabilitation goals with motivation, fun and perseverance. The challenges and tasks can be adapted to the children’s abilities. This allows them to approach the demands of the real world at their own pace in a safe artificial environment. There are no limits to the imagination of what future environments, tasks or rewards should look like.

At our booth, you can immerse yourself in the artificial world and feed a badger, play drums on mushrooms, or try to get across the stream dry-footed. Try out our virtual world with fireflies and singing birds and forget about everyday life for a short while.
