ANYmal: Much more than a robot dog
ANYmal walks independently over hill and dale. The robot looks like a dog and provides valuable services in places that are dangerous for humans: for example, inspecting an oil platform or searching for people buried in rubble. Today ANYmal is moving around the Scientifica site – and the researchers accompanying him will answer your questions.
ANYmal is one of the permanent protagonists of Scientifica. Whether in a robot show or at the exhibition stand, he delights old and young year after year. Over the course of time, his appearance changed. Because the robot prototypes gained in maturity, autonomy and reliability. So they evolved from a research project to a fully functional demonstrator.
When the first commercial inquiries arrived, the team around ANYmal founded the company ANYbotics. It develops walking robots for real-world applications. The ETH spin-off offers ANYmal, an end-to-end robotic solution for industrial inspection, providing plant operators with the information they need to maximize plant uptime, improve safety and reduce costs.
At this year’s Scientifica, we’re taking ANYmal for a walk: On Saturday at the Scientifica site at the Hönggerberg location and on Sunday at the Irchel location. Of course, we will be available to answer your questions – and yes: you may also take pictures of ANYmal.
